Conversation of the Week: Babies

Shop Guy, Nora and I watched Mrs. Doubtfire this weekend prompting a good discussion of parenting, divorce, family configurations, etc. After she went to bed Shop Guy revealed that something was bothering him:

SG: "The thing that seemed weird was that those actors in their late 40s were playing parents of a five year old."

JOTV: "Yeah?"

SG: "Yeah, I mean, is that even usually a good idea, physically, to have a kid at that age?"

JOTV: (Indignantly, I'll admit) "Pfft, ah yeeesss, people do it all the time. I've actually been thinking lately that it'd be pretty cool to have another baby."

SG: (Walking away) Well then, it's a darn good thing we got that puppy.
